My first Irish genealogy ‘radio shows’ were created in 1984. Today, our Irish Roots Cafe on the web gives you a great variety of shows. We talk with authors, shopkeepers, dancers, and everyday Irish. Today we offer a series of shows that are free for everyone. Just click and listen anytime day or night. Feel free to call in to my phone recorder and leave your comments to be played on the next show...  Some podcasts are free, others are for members only. We have three broadcast series, and 100 episodes recorded to date, including:

(1) Irish Families Worldwide, genealogy & family history.
(2) The Irish Song & Recitation Festival, chat & sing

Irish Roots
Mike descends from the O’Loughlins of Kilfenora, County Clare,
and the O’Donahues of Glenflesk, County Kerry. He also bears
Sullivan, Buckley, Kilmartin, Llewellyn and Kelliher roots; leads
tours to Ireland; and maintains a 3,000 volume Irish library.

Mike was a rock and roll garage band drummer in the 1960’s.
Drawn to publishing, he owned a 'QSL card' printing company
in high school.  That endeavor helped him through graduation
from Rockhurst University in the 1970's.

He wrote, “The Complete Book for Tracing Your Irish Ancestors”
an instant best seller, in 1980. One of the first hardbound books
on the subject, it led to Irishroots.com and the Irish Roots Cafe.

His numerous public appearances include: National Public Radio
& television; Irish Family history seminars; Grand Marshall and
judge in St. Patricks Day parades; and as a founding member of
Irish cultural, bagpipe, and dance groups. He founded the first
Irish Family history podcast on the web in 2006 and produces
three shows currently.
